How do you get my stuff from Japan to Australia?

There are several methods available for freighting items, at the moment we offer EMS and container shipping as these are simply the most secure and efficient ways of getting your goods to you

EMS/Air: For small, light or urgent items EMS is recommended. EMS is trackable and takes around 3-4 working days to arrive from Japan once sent. EMS shipments must be under 1.5metres in length / girth, and not more than 20kgs maximum per box into Australia, and 30kgs into other countries.

Container/Sea: The cheapest method and very secure. The container is packed by Import Monster PTY LTD in Japan. The container is sealed and shipped to port in Japan, then onto a freighter which sails to the docks in Melbourne. It is then moved by truck to an AQIS (Australian Quarantine) bonded warehouse. There, the seal is broken and the container unpacked for inspection by Quarantine. We then pick up the goods and move to our Factory in Ringwood, VIC and arrange pickup/postage to you. Our staff in Japan are very aware of what they’re packing and take the appropriate care, so damage is avoided.

Cheap shipping sounds good, but how long does it take?

Generally, container shipping is quite slow. Typically, at present we fill a container every 3-5 weeks. They will be more frequent in the future as more people start using the Monster to get their toys!

Once the container is packed (takes one day) it is moved to dock, ready to go on the ship. (2 days) Once on the ship, it usually takes between 21-28 days to arrive to port in Melbourne. The container is usually available for pickup around 2-3 days after the ship has docked, it is then moved to be unpacked for quarantine (2 days) and then quarantine will usually take 2 days to come out and inspect. Once inspected, it takes us 2-5 working days to pick up and sort it all, ready to ship to you or for you to pick up.

If you buy a set of wheels the week a container is being packed, they won’t make it in to that container and you could potentially wait 10+ weeks until they arrive in Melbourne, by the time we have amassed enough parts to fill a container, then packed it and gone through the process outlined above. If time is critical you may want to consider EMS. EMS is not available on very large or very heavy items however.

I’m not in Australia, how can you get my goods to me?

A true international Monster of Mystery, the Monster can deliver to you in most Countries in the known world via EMS. Further shipping methods will be coming on board for countries outside of Australia also. Such as via DHL, Bax Global, Ocean mail and SAL (second class airmail). The Monster will do his best to accommodate those who aren’t lucky enough to live Down Under! Please note that as we are an Australian company, we charge in Australian dollars.

How do I get started?

Head over to our sign up page and fill in some basic details. Our system will email you out an activation email to confirm we have a valid email address, and once you have activated you are ready to sign in and browse. When you find what you want, you place a bid and then let the Monster do the rest! Prior to bidding, we recommend you read the Bidding Conditions (which is located under the “Need to know” tab on the left once you’re logged in) to ensure you’re up to date with what you can and can not bid on - we like to keep everything above board and follow Australian customs & quarantine laws strictly (no saumri swords sorry!).
