Australian Shipping & Packaging
Import Monster understands the importance of having your item arrive in perfect condition, without paying throught the nose for it. Shipping can be a large part of the overall cost and through trial and error we have found the most reliable companies available to handle your precious cargo.
All prices for items on our site are quoted for pick up only and do not include postage or packaging unless it specifically states otherwise. If you require the item to be shipped, we will quote you on a per item basis and our quotes will include both shipping and packaging when using our preferred shipping methods. For small to medium sized items like boost guages, tail lights, head lights, mirrors and similar, we use Australia Post. We will always ship registered and insured except when Express Post is specifically requested. We can ship uninsured/unregistered if you request, however this is at your own risk. Please bear in mind that insurance is not available on Express Post items.
For larger items, like wheels, seats, engines and similar, we use Hunter Express. Hunter Express offer insurance on all Import Monster items they carry. We will quote all items on the Road Express service. If you require quicker shipping, they have other services available like overnight and same day service - these will be quoted on an individual basis. You are welcome to employ your own freight company to pick up from us if this is not to your satisfaction and we are flexible with times for pickups*
While we will take all possible steps to help a resolution come about in the unlikely event that any of these circumstances arise, we will not be held responsible in whole or part for the failure of any third party to deliver. We strongly urge that you thoroughly inspect all items before accepting/signing for them. Signing for an item is a binding agreement that you have received the goods in good order and once signed for, no recourse is available. This is particularly true of Australia Post. You really need to open the item in front of an Aust Post employee for the insurance to be worth anything.
*If you choose to use your own courier we will still need to package your item/s and therefore we will need to charge for our time. Time is charged at $66 per hour inc gst or part thereof. If it takes us 20mins to package your item for transit we will charge $22. This includes materials like boxes/tape/bubble wrap. For particularly large/heavy items like we reserve the right to quote on a per item basis. Engines and halfcuts will generally require a plastic pallet, these are an additional $16.50 each.
Warranty / Returns
Unless specifically stated otherwise, no warranties or guarantees are expressed or implied on goods we sell. No guarantees are offered as to an items fitness for a particular task. While we will always endeavour to provide accurate information as to an items condition and suitability, goods are offered as is and responsibility for fitment and for an items fitness for a particular task is upon the purchaser.
If you believe you have received an item that was not what you ordered, or we have sent you an item which differs significantly from what we described then you must contact us within 48 hours of receiving the item to discuss any issues that you may have. We will not consider any claims beyond this time frame. We will require conclusive evidence that any damage or faults were present prior to shipping and were not caused by negligence/abuse or inappropriate behaviour by you or a person/intermediary acting on your behalf such as a courier, friend or mechanic. In short, if you break it, it was damaged in transit or you didn't do your homework before purchasing then we're sorry, but that's not our problem. If you signed for an item as received in good order, then there is nothing we can do.
Always bear in mind that if you are purchasing second hand items, your expectations may not be alignd with our descriptions. What we consider to be very good condition for a second hand item may not match closely with your own ideas of what constitutes very good condition. If in doubt, ask for clarification, additional high res pics or close ups. Or even come in and view the item in person! Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us and we'd prefer not to sell the item than to sell it and have a disappointed customer.
Whereever possible, if required, we will offer a replacement of your item or offer a similar item. If no replacement is available within a reasonable time frame, then we will offer a refund in the form of store credit.
If an item needs to be returned for any reason whatosever, postage is the responsibility of the purchaser. Import Monster will not be responsible for any costs incurred for return postage, we will not accept COD items except by prior arrangement, nor will we bear the cost of freight for items returned undelivered. Return postage/freight for any reason remains the responsibility of the purchaser at all times, with no exceptions.
Having said all of the above, the chances of disappointment when dealing with us are very very low! We have worked long and hard to establish a good reputation for quality products and service and we want to keep that reputation. Customer satisfaction is what drives us and what keeps us going.
